Eve Smith is a mid-career artist based in Gunnison, Colorado.

Eve first began her artistic journey as a child with her twin sister Dawn in a small town in Louisiana. They were always drawing and creating with whatever they could find. Finding her love of figure drawing at a young age. Both her and her sister pursued a career in the arts, one in design and Eve in Fine Art. Studying in Italy during a summer semester she finalized that genre falling in love with every statue and painting that represented a storytelling and on going narrative that is now mirrored in her own work. After college Eve began a career in education and arts & culture management. She has been a leader at multiple non-profit organizations and now resides in Gunnison, Colorado as the Director of Youth Education at Mountain Roots where she merges art and environmental learning.

Eve’s work has always been about exploring the human form and how it connects to societies, communities, the land and its people. Her focus is an ongoing narrative that leads its viewer into a deeper level of understanding about life and how we tell the story of our own bodies and connections. She is first always a student and is always learning new mediums and genres.
